Gas Safety

  • Ensure gas appliances are turned off and have not been left on and unlit
  • Do not smoke or use naked flames
  • Do not unplug or switch anything electrical on or off
  • Do not use mobile phones
  • Open doors and windows to prevent gas build up
  • Turn off the gas supply at the meter/mains

If you suspect a gas leak at all, phone Gas Networks Ireland (formerly Bord Gáis Energy) immediately on their emergency number 1850 20 50 50

  • If you cannot get through, dial 999 or 112
  • Do not use a phone in the immediate area of the leak, use a neighbour’s or call from outside

Call this number no matter who your gas supplier is.
All calls are recorded through this emergency number.

To ensure your safety

  • Foscadh Housing carry out regular gas central heating boiler servicing, using only fully Qualified and Registered Gas Installers
  • Tenants must allow access to their property to Foscadh Housing appointed service engineers. Prior notification will be given to tenants.
  • Please note that Foscadh Housing DOES NOT ALLOW the use of Superser gas cylinders in any of our properties for safety reasons.
